Rules

The participants of the contest are the phonograms (albums of phonograms) of academic musical or musical-dramatic works of Russian composers (with or without text), which were published not earlier than January 1, 2017. Phonograms can be submitted in digital formats WAV or AIFF.

Applications for the participation in the contest are accepted from the right holders of the phonograms (individuals or organizations):

  • authors of works,
  • performers,
  • producers of phonograms,
  • publishers,
  • other holders of exclusive rights to audio recording.

Applications are accepted from December 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019.

In order to nominate an audio recording for the Award, the Applicant should fill in the Registration form at the website of the Award and add an audio file with an audio recording of a musical or a musical-dramatic work. The link to an active resource with the audio recording should be direct. The audio file should be available for downloading without asking for a password or «captcha».

Jury members vote anonymously. The application indicates the codename of the release which is transferred to the jury members.

The long list of the audio recordings (their codenames) chosen by the jury of the Award qualifying stage will be published at the Award website not later than April 1, 2019.

After that, voting for the audio recordings of the long list will take place and the short list of five finalists in each nomination will be formed.

Then the jury of the Award final stage will select the winners.

Phonograms are evaluated according to the following general criteria:

  • content and originality;
  • level of performance and interpretation;
  • technical quality of the sound recording;

The first, second and third degree winners in each nomination should have exclusive copyright and/or related rights to the work, performance, phonogram which is the winner.

The winners of the Award in each category will be announced at the Award ceremony which will be held in autumn, 2019 in Moscow.

The laureates in each nomination of the Award will receive a monetary reward, a diploma of the Award winner and a memorable prize. The monetary reward is divided between all the right holders of the winning release in equal shares.

More information about the prizes will be available at the Award website soon. The jury may establish special prizes and awards which will be announced additionally.
